How Much Things People Say Effect Us

The other day I was reading a blog post from Roni that caught my eye.  First, let me say that I found Roni’s blogs because she loves to cook healthy food (check out GreenLiteBites) and then I discovered her weight blog (Roni’sWeigh).  She has a long and interesting history and I highly recommend all of [...]

Zumba

I took a Zumba fitness class today for the first time.  I had a pretty good time, admittedly.  Even though I have two left feet and am very visual (I don’t take audio cues very well), I didn’t feel like I was an idiot.  I was able to actually shake my hips and get comfortable [...]

Fitness Update

It’s been a while since I mentioned fitness here.  That’s not because I quit working out (I don’t think I could ever do that!).  I am officially at a maintenance level in my diet and exercise.  I still go at least 5 days a week.  I have been replacing one day each week with tennis.  [...]

Workout Trenches—Smells from hell

While at the fitness center this morning, I decided to get on the treadmill and walk.  I had already warmed up and lifted weights and the Young and the Restless was about to come on…sooooo—off the the treadmill I went.
I’m walking along…a little huffin’ and puffin’ when this lady gets onto the treadmill next [...]

I Admit It…

Okay, if you have read this blog for a while or know me well, you know that I am pretty “flighty.” A couple of weeks ago I started running 3 miles.  I was quite proud of myself and doing well, except that everytime I ran, I would spend a day with a sore hip [...]

Weight update:

I’m getting heavier…
While I would normally not like this result, I am realizing that it is occurring because my muscles are getting bigger.  My tummy is getting smaller, but my quads, biceps, triceps and neck muscles are all bigger.  I can work with this.  It just means I will always be a size 6-8…never any [...]

3 Miles!! Conscious Eating and the Boy who Went on my Carpet!

I did it today!!! 3 miles on the treadmill in 30 minutes!!!  I am so proud of myself.  After doing this today, I have decided that I think I will try to get in 3 miles twice a week.  I’ll work up to 4 miles each time.  With that said, I am currently working on [...]

Week 3: Jogging update

Today was my first day of the week on my new personal-trainer recommended program.  It was also my 3rd week into my “learning to run” schedule.  I was on the treadmill for a total of 50 minutes.  I ran at 6 miles per hour for (4 minutes and walked 4 minutes) X 3times.  Then I [...]

Workout Plan Updated By a Personal Trainer

I had my first (and only) appointment with a personal trainer as part of signing up at our new workout facility.  I had a lot of fun and got some great info!  She gave me a workout plan that I will start on Monday.  It is based on me answering some questions about my goals.
My [...]

This Day is Good

I got the boys out of the house this morning.  We needed that.  I think after my last two Big Brother-Bashing posts, we just needed some time apart.  Big Brother goes back to preschool starting tomorrow, so this will work out well this week.
We went to a new workout facility and the boys went to [...]

Eating Healthy to Lose Weight and Keep it Off

A good friend of mine over at Just Another Stay At Home Mom’s Weblog asked me if I would share with my audience what my eating plan has been over this past 3 months of losing weight.  I am happy to oblige by showing you what worked and did not work long for me.
When I [...]

Workout Schedule Help?!

Okay, so as you can imagine…when I combine my personality for order in the form of written schedule…and this new jogging/walking thing with my already in place workout…I start having scheduling issues.
The current problem is how do I fit the running/jogging thing in on MWF and still get in my required 3 day a week [...]

Astonished (!) and Running

I have been looking at my blog stats for the past two days and I am amazed at how many hits I have gotten thanks to Alphainventions and Condron!
I don’t know how I got on there…but I am not complaining.  I just hope that some of these views translate into readers who come back for [...]
