Well, I have been working about 9 hours a week now for 3 weeks (well except for the week I was on vacation)
and I am loving it!! I have been keeping up with my housework, plus getting some things done that would not otherwise get done (spring cleaning to prep for a garage sale, cleaning out cars, washing cars, etc…). I am enjoying it because I am not overtired by doing it after working a fulltime job. My days have been really busy and planned out, but we are (for the most part) sticking to our schedule. With gas expenses going up, we are having to keep in mind our budget a little more (but not too much at this point).
Some of my new challenges:
-Try to stretch the gas in my car to 1.5-2 weeks (10 gallon tank and about 25-32 mpg.)
-Be more flexible and get some (not a whole lot) of homeschooling in on the days that I do work. (This would not be too hard except Big Brother still takes a 2-3 hour nap every afternoon). The other option is to just accept that one theme will take up almost 2 weeks to get through.
-Keeping our eating out to 1 $20 meal every week. (I need to make a list of “kids eat free” places here in town.
-Keeping our grocery budget under $220 each month (about $55 per week–including diapers)–Now, I buy meat on a separate budget every 3 months at Sams, so this doesn’ t include meat).
-Keeping the yard mowed. And Weedeated. (ugh!)
Once these things are under control, life will be much simpler for me. It’s all in the scheduling.
Big Brother is waking up, so I will write more later. Ugh! He never went to sleep. Oh well…..
