Big Brother Birthday Ideas

Well, Big Brother will be 4 on August 19.  I am searching for low cost fun ideas.  Anyone have any suggestions???

One idea I had was an outdoor BarBQue where everyone makes their own barbequed Pizza.  I could make it ala Food network style.  I’d also thought of Safety City (a place to ride bikes and learn safety rules), but some of his friends (actually some of our friends kids) are not yet old enough for that).

  1. That is a super idea and all kids LOVE pizza. We may actually steal the idea. My wife led a field trip group to Pizza Hut, where they all made pizza and the kids had a blast.

i think both ideas sound good. i wouldn’t get too bogged down in the age issue. he is getting older so it will be more and more important to do things with “his group”. if there isn’t much to do there for the little ones, then just where the kids play for a little while then do the “important stuff” then the little ones can leave and older ones can stay and play.

MTAE: Thanks! I had a friend who invited us to a party one time where we barbequed pizzas and I saw a food network special on it (cannot remember which chef). You are definitely not stealing it firsthand (I obviously stole it too!)

Kristy: I might still check out safety city–If there is still an area for littler kids, it might work out. Remember we have a little brother to take into consideration too (and he can’t leave).

Jan: Thanks! I have been thinking I will come up with a bunch of organized games to keep them really busy and wear them all out. My oldest would love it and my youngest would love watching it.

AJ: I will look at your links! Thanks!
