Things I am surprised about…

In the past few days I have been surprised with how much Baby Boy understands when it comes to me talking to him…He is only 14 months (almost) and he only says “Ma-Ma, Da-Da, Uh-Oh, Look, and What’s That?”  Everything else that comes out of his mouth sounds like “Bah!” or “Da!”
For example:
About a week [...]

Husband Birthday Ideas??? Anyone???

Okay, so Doc’s Birthday is coming up REALLY soon.  I am not sure what to do or plan.  The good news is that he is off the week of his birthday.  We just went on a trip and we are planning a trip for just the two of us in July already, so we cannot [...]

Tutor.com

I had my first experience tutoring for Tutor.com tonight.  I had a great time!  It was nice that I could help someone online with their math troubles.  (and I was in my PJ’s–HA!).  I spent 42 minutes online with them before they had to go.
I think I am going to like this

Hearing Test after Ear Tubes

We had our first hearing test today (post ear tube surgery).  Baby Boy did 100% better!  Both ears still had tubes; both ears were clear.  He responded to all tones and noises!  Yea!  Oh, and the best thing of all?  No ear infections or fevers or sickness since getting the surgery!!!  Just a couple of [...]

Let’s Take a minute…

I have to ask everyone to take a minute of silence for the poor baby duck that I ran over today.  Why the hell was it walking across a highway in the middle of nowhere when there is not a lake for at least an hour?  That is what I want to know.
Anyway, so I [...]

Great Recipe!! Ham and Swiss Chicken

Okay, so I have made Tuesday and Thursday my crockpot nights (in preparation for allowing me time to workout on those days and still get dinner done and a little homeschool in before 6:00pm).  Anyway, I have been trying 2 new crockpot recipes each week from my Fix It and Forget It Cookbook.
Here is the [...]

To Go Dutch or Not??

The other night, my husband and the kids and I were eating out at a reasonably priced italian food restaurant in our town.  We were finishing up and I was tending to the boys when Doc mentioned (as he looked over at another couple leaving), “Did we ever split a check when we were dating?”  [...]

Big Brother Birthday Ideas

Well, Big Brother will be 4 on August 19.  I am searching for low cost fun ideas.  Anyone have any suggestions???
One idea I had was an outdoor BarBQue where everyone makes their own barbequed Pizza.  I could make it ala Food network style.  I’d also thought of Safety City (a place to ride bikes and learn [...]

I love working part time and staying home!!

Well, I have been working about 9 hours a week now for 3 weeks (well except for the week I was on vacation)   and I am loving it!!  I have been keeping up with my housework, plus getting some things done that would not otherwise get done (spring cleaning to prep for a garage [...]

Goings On…

Ahh, the boys are asleep!  We went to the Zoo today.  They got pretty worn out.  We are still on our vacation and will be home Sunday sometime.  We visited In-laws on Sat-Wed.  Now we are visiting my Mom.  We do this in June every year.  We conveniently time our vacation with our wedding anniversary [...]

-3z

Now, I don’t normally blog about my students or work, but an exception has to be made today because it was absolutely hilarious to me (now I just hope that the funny reads well on paper).

Anyway, one of my students came up to me today (he came from the library where he is taking summer school [...]

Being Scared of Heights? Is this an innate phobia?

Today, Big Brother, Baby Boy and I went to my gym to work out.  When we got there, I took them to the nursery.  This was their first time to go, and my gym is really open and has stairs to access the upstairs nursery.  When you get up the stairs, you can look beyond [...]

Boy Meet Corner of Wall…

“Boy, meet corner of island in kitchen.”
Our first ER visit occurred this evening.  Right after we made a new house rule.  No Running around the island in the kitchen.
We took him in because he was squinting really bad after and then crying.  Otherwise, we would have let him tuff it out.  Better safe than sorry.  [...]
